The Gift Shopping Blues

When it comes to great gift ideas, I have about as much imagination as a hamster. (If they were imaginative, hamsters wouldn't run endlessly in those little wheels). It's odd, really. I'm what you'd call a "natural" when it comes to shopping. I LOVE to shop. Give me an entire day at Filene's Basement and I'm in Heaven. For the uninitiated, Filene's Basement is one of the most famous bargain basements in the United States.

Lurking beneath Filene's Department store in Downtown Boston, "The Basement" is a place where merchandise is continually marked down and competition for the best buys is fierce. There's even a day each Spring when wedding dresses sell so cheaply that scuffles break out in the aisles.I prefer my shopping nonviolent. But still, the prospect of a great big store full of unexplored "stuff" is more exciting to me than a giant Easter Egg hunt is to the average five year old. I know I'm going to find Easter Eggs (i.e., "hidden treasures"). I just have to uncover...

The Pressure of Their World (for Introverts)

Faith Burgess is a bright and charming stay-at-home mom. She has a toddler, Joshua. Faith is an introvert and so is her three year old son. I asked Faith to try and put into words what it was like to be an introvert so I could help get the idea across to my readers. This is the story she told me.My husband has an uncle who is clearly an introvert.

I've heard him called "quirky", "cold and humorless", "reclusive" and "a strange bird". He married into our very large family and has been dragged to every family gathering for nearly 50 years ? always sitting off by himself reading a book or watching TV ? never talking to anyone while everybody else socializes, eats and plays games.Last year, I drew his name for the Christmas gift exchange and was stymied about what he'd like. The family members who had all drawn his name in previous years laughed pityingly. They informed me that he wants the same thing every year, white undershirts and gray dress-shirts. I got him the nicest ones I...

What is Intution and How do I use it?

Intuition is an incredible resource and gift that we have been given to help us live our best life.
Unfortunately, not many people know what it is or how to use it.
The word intuition means "in to you" in Latin.
Florence Scovel, a theologian, once said, "Intuition is the spiritual faculty that doesn't explain; it seemingly points the way."
It's also been said that intuition is your divine Spirit talking to you. If you will stop for a moment and acknowledge this, you will begin to realize the incredible perspective you have at your fingertips.

You have this very amazing power!
And you don't even have to get any special training to start using it.
All you need to do is raise your awareness about it and set your intention to harness it.Intuitive messages range from an inkling to a strong sign or message.
Your inner self is persistent and consistent.
It will keep trying to get your attention until you...
